Checklist Summary:
The Amazon Linux 2023 Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) is published as a tool to improve the security of Department of Defense (DOD) information systems. This document is meant for use in conjunction with other STIGs, such as the Cloud Computing SRG and the Apache Tomcat Application Server 9 STIG. The scope of the Amazon Linux 2023 STIG is limited to the security of the operating system, and only addresses other AWS offerings and services in reference to the security configuration of the operating system. The Amazon Linux 2023 STIG, written under guidance from Amazon developers, was not intended to be used with a graphical user interface (GUI). Therefore, until such time as Amazon includes a GUI in their distribution, this STIG will not include controls for GUI configuration.
